What our riders say
Optional activities
Deauville, Normandy
Internationally renowned, Deauville is one of France’s most famous destinations for horse lovers.
The story of Deauville’s transformation began in the 19th century with the vision of the Duke de Morny, who dreamed of creating an elegant seaside resort where refinement and the equestrian world would come together. Under his influence, the town developed its famous villas, and in 1864, the Deauville-La Touques racecourse was inaugurated - a symbol of the importance of horses in the town’s identity, built even before the local church.
Today, Deauville continues to celebrate this heritage through its renowned horseraces, prestigious yearling sales, polo tradition and the many riding trails that cross the surrounding Norman countryside.
With its elegant architecture, unique atmosphere and passion for horses, Deauville offers a destination where history, lifestyle and equestrian tradition meet.
A TIMELESS DINING EXPERIENCE
After your morning horseback ride through the Bocage Normand, continue your journey at Le Drakkar, one of Deauville's most iconic institutions.
With its green velvet interiors, equestrian artwork, handcrafted woodwork and bespoke furnishings, Le Drakkar offers a refined atmosphere inspired by the passion for horses that has shaped Deauville's identity for the past century. More than a restaurant, it is a journey through time, where every detail tells a story.
At the table, Chef Edouard Faure celebrates the finest local produce through timeless French classics, offering a unique culinary experience and the perfect pause during your day.
